About KOTENRA
My practice began with a desire to preserve memories, emotions, and fleeting sensations through color. Painting became the first language through which I could give form to those experiences.
Today, that exploration extends across paintings, jewelry, objects, and mirrors.
Through KOTENRA, I explore how art can become part of everyday life—not only as something to be viewed, but also something to be worn, lived with, and experienced. What interests me most is the relationship that emerges between a work and the person who encounters it. I am especially inspired by the moments when a piece becomes part of someone’s life and allows the wearer to shine in their own way.
私の制作は、記憶や感情、その瞬間にしか存在しない感覚を色彩によって留めたいという思いから始まりました。絵画は、それらを形にするための最初の表現言語でした。
その探求はやがて絵画、ジュエリー、オブジェ、ミラーへと広がり、現在も様々な媒体を横断しながら制作を続けています。
KOTENRAでは、アートを鑑賞するだけでなく、身に纏い、暮らしの中で共に過ごすことのできる存在として捉えています。私が関心を持っているのは作品そのものだけではなく、作品と人との間に生まれる関係です。作品との出会いが、その人らしさを映し出し、その人が自然に輝くきっかけとなることを願いながら制作しています。
